A path with a geological focus walking among the volcanic cones that gave birth to the lava flows that form Los Lajialesone of the natural landscapes most significant of the youngest island of the archipelago.

La Senda step by step

1. Home. Una vez estemos en el punto de encuentro, partiremos hacia los Lajiales, una zona situada en el área baja de sotavento, en el vértice meridional de la isla, en las proximidades del núcleo pesquero de La Restinga. Desde allí comenzaremos nuestra experiencia de senderismo a El Lajial en El Hierro.

2. Walk through volcanic lava. We will find ourselves in a unique landscape where we will be able to make out perfectly the almost intact morphology of the Lajiales herreños, which conserve an aspect very similar to the one they had when the lava cooled.

Los Lajiales is a recent malpaís, dating back approximately 6,000 years, and has not suffered much erosion since then.

3. Learn about history. While we enjoy an unknown trail, our guide will tell us everything we need to know about this island, the youngest in the Canary archipelago.

4. Capture the moment. We can stop to rest and take some photos to immortalise the moment. We will then return to Valverde, our meeting point, and the activity will come to an end.
