Hello everyone, my name is Lola and in this post I am going to recommend you the 4 best experiences to do with Sendaecoway this 2020 on the island of Tenerife.
I will try to show you in detail everything you might need to know to make a decision., both for Canary Islanders and for tourists, So please, if you're visiting the island, don't stay in the hotel.
I want to make it clear that these are my personal recommendations, Tenerife is an island full of extraordinary places to discover and moments to enjoy, for everyone and for all tastes.
Please understand that if it were up to me, the only thing I would do would be to travel around the island enjoying the food and the good wine, but what I want here is to show them a little bit of the island in its diversity, and not respond exclusively to my passion for gastronomy and after-dinner conversation.
A LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT TENERIFE
Tenerife is an island Located northwest of Africa, in the Atlantic Ocean, it has a population of approximately 1 million inhabitants and you can drive around it in about 2 hours, depending on the number of stops you make. Its capital is Santa Cruz, located in the northwest of the island.
It is a volcanic island, that is, it is formed by eruptions of (now inactive) volcanoes, the most famous of which, and the one that dominates it, is Mount Teide, with an altitude of 3718 meters.
Teide is Spain's highest peak, A volcano steeped in history and legend, visible from all over the island. It can be seen from many points throughout the Canary archipelago, although it's truly best enjoyed on a hike to the summit, or in... stargazing at night from their base in Las Cañadas.
THE NORTH AND SOUTH OF TENERIFE
But Tenerife is much more than that. To help you understand, the island is very divided between north and south.
In the NORTH They will find:
- The best local gastronomy.
- Authentic villages of the Canary Islands.
- Black sandy beaches, ravines, cliffs and many hidden places to enjoy.
- Green areas of forests and lush vegetation.
While in the SOUTH:
- Greater tourist offering.
- Complete leisure areas, discotheques, beach-clubs.
- SUN, lots of sun.
- Wide range of water activities on offer: scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing, skiing, etc.
This map will help you become familiar with the geographical layout of the island and its main cities:
The Climate of Tenerife
I know that many (of the visitors, the Canaries can skip this point) are interested to know that What is the weather like in Tenerife?.
The first thing is to understand that tenerife has a warm climate ALL YEAR ROUND. The north tends to be more humid and cloudy, so temperatures can be a little cooler, while in the south you can expect 25-30 degrees in December and clear skies, with plenty of sunshine.
The The average temperature on the island is around 20 degrees throughout the year, with slight variations between summer and winter.
Warning note
This doesn't mean that the weather is the same across the entire island; Tenerife has microclimates, so weather conditions can vary within just a few kilometers. In other words, DO NOT CLIMB TEIDE IN WINTER WITHOUT THE PROPER SHELTERIf you are in Adeje, it is very likely that you will find snow and temperatures below 0 degrees. Don't let the pleasant sunshine of your hotel in Adeje fool you.
To exemplify this, these two photos could be taken from same day, same time:
MY RECOMMENDATION OF THE 4 BEST ACTIVITIES TO DO IN TENERIFE
Having said all that, let's get to the important part. My recommended activities for this year are a selection of:
- Gastronomy and wine culture
- Sport and adrenaline
- Sea
- Relax
However, even with this being my selection, there are countless other interesting things to do on the island. From learning about its history and that of the Canary Islands through its museums to enjoying the nightlife with its wide variety of entertainment options.
It is also common to explore the island, discovering its hidden corners, especially the beaches, but also the trails and villages.
Why do I recommend Senda Ecoway experiences?
Because Senda's proposal is to promote sustainable and responsible tourism. A different kind of tourism.
Most of our activities are authentic and original, meaning they are designed and conceived by our local team with the aim of offering different experiences in small groups as opposed to the usual mass tourism.

What a relaxing day! The place is beautiful and very well maintained. I gave this spa to my partner as a gift, and we enjoyed it immensely. There are many different water jets, each designed to target specific areas of the body. There's also a steam sauna, an ice bucket, and more—very complete, and the place is peaceful.
