🗨 Elio (Guide): Let’s go snorkeling around Montaña Amarilla! To me, this spot combines everything that I love: a quiet bay with wonderful landscape, warm water and rich marine life. Hopefully we will be lucky enough to spot turtles or other amazing animals. Do you fancy a dive in this mind-blowing place?
Montaña Amarilla, a sea jewel in Tenerife for snorkeling lovers
Without a doubt, this is a singular activity that starts at Las Galletas port. A boat will take you along the south coast of Tenerife to the Montaña Amarilla natural monument, one of the best snorkeling spot in Canary Islands. This magic place was born out of a marine eruption and originated by yellow volcanic ashes. Erosion did the rest.
The Senda step by step
The boat ride will be guided by an expert, including an explanation about the terrestrial and marine ecosystems in this part of the island. Don’t hesitate to make all the questions you want to the instructor. He will accompany you all the way to the Montaña Amarilla bay where you will snorkel surrounded by sandbanks, reefs and an aquatic moon scene. We can’t guarantee you will see a turtle, but keep an eye open! They love to chill around Montaña Amarilla, so if you’re alert and lucky, you might spot one – or more!
