La Senda step by step

1. Home: After picking up the clients at their accommodation at the established time, we will go to the starting point of this route that allows us to climb the Pico de la Zarza, the highest mountain of Fuerteventura with its 807 meters, located in the south of the island and within the natural park of Jandia.

This mountain is known for the majoreros as Oreja Burro (Donkey's Ear), because, together with the Pico de la Palma, from a distance they are reminiscent of the shape of the ears of this animal.

2. Climbing to the top: Climbing up the leeward side you will find some steep sections, but once you reach the top the spectacular views will make you forget your tiredness.

We will be on the roof of the island, touching the sky with our hands and at our feet kilometres of wild beaches, the beaches of Cofete and Barlovento, and we can see the Jandía arch with its steep walls, the remains of an ancient volcanic building.

3. Immortalise your moment. After a well-deserved rest and a few photos to immortalise the moment, we will start the return to the starting point, and then return to the accommodation.

Note: Don't forget to bring suitable clothing and footwear, sun protection, water, hat, picnic and windbreaker.

Yes, it is common to see birds such as the guirre (an endangered species of Egyptian vulture), Canary Island Houbara Bustard, and small reptiles such as lizards and mullets. There are also Moorish squirrels, although they are not native.
