Travelling is something very personal and each person is free to do it as they enjoy it, however, from Senda Ecoway we want to make a different proposal for the most curious and adventurous. We assure you that you won't regret doing these 7 things!
1. Walk through the "Barranco del Infierno" (Hell's Ravine).

The Barranco del Infierno is a place full of legends and also one of the most pleasant places to walk along its paths.
This Nature Reserve is full of vegetation and species endemic to the Canary Islands, which you will find along its exciting trails.
Your steps will take you along streams, slopes and natural ponds, cared for and protected to preserve their natural state, the best thing about this magical route is that it is suitable for all types of people. There are informative signs and maps to help you enjoy the route.
This trail is located in Adeje, in the southwest of Tenerife.
2. Try local food

One of the great wonders of the Canary Islands is its exquisite gastronomy. We will never tire of recommending to all travellers who venture to discover the typical food of Tenerife, the island is full of traditional food places, among them the famous guachinches, but our recommendation is to get advice from local people, such as La Laguna or La Orotava where food is culture.
The wines of Tenerife are of international prestige and there are few pleasures in life like sitting at the table enjoying cheese, potatoes with mojo or goat's meat, all accompanied by a delicious island wine.
3. Explore the seabed

The sea has something special that fascinates us, something that conquers our hearts and is never forgotten. The special location of the Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean, and its volcanic origin, make it condense in a small space an infinite life full of spectacular species, I can only tell you that the Canary Islands have some of the best places in the world (internationally recognised by specialists) for snorkelling.
There is a moment of peace, a moment of harmony with the sea, with the animals, with the environment in the background, that would be impossible to describe in words.
Don't hesitate to follow our recommendation if you come to visit Tenerife: explore, without any fear, the sensation of merging with the seabed and its nooks and crannies.
Which plan to follow on your holidays?
Don't miss the Experience Teide peak excursion: on foot or by cableway
Get to know the most visited national park in Europe and climb the highest peak in Spain. Exceed your limits on this excursion of ascent to Teide peak with permits.
If you want to live a unique and environmentally friendly experience, and also get to know the Teide National Park with a Senda guide, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, then this is the place for you. Unesco World Heritagebook your place for a guided visit to Teide with permits.
4. On the way to the village of Masca

This is one of the most popular routes among hikers who know the islands. Masca is a unique hamlet in Tenerife, its cliffs are up to 8 million years old. This route, which takes just over 3 hours, will take us from the village of Masca, one of the most unique villages in the Canary Islands, to the coast.
One of the best options to do this route is to combine the walk with a return boat trip.

From Los Gigantes, you will go by bus to Masca, go down the ravine to the beach and get on any of the boats that make the daily route to return to Los Gigantes. However, we recommend that you organise this in advance.
5. 'Playa del Bollullo' in La Orotava

This virgin beach of black sand of volcanic origin, from where you can see the Teide in the background, is one of the favourites of the locals, as it is practically a wild beach, and access is relatively easy.
It is located in the municipality of La Orotava, next to Playa de los Patos. It is important to check the state of the sea before bathing, as the currents can be dangerous for inexperienced bathers.
However, thanks to Tenerife's good climate, you can swim here practically every day of the year.
6. Camping in the bush

One of the best ways to enjoy a unique and different natural experience on the island is to go camping, although many already know that for this type of activity the most important thing is to be well equipped.
So think carefully and organise the necessary items before setting off on your adventure.
In Tenerife, there are several camping areas where you can enjoy our natural spaces, where you can spend the night in tents, motorhomes, caravans or other adapted vehicles or without any of these, up to a maximum of 7 days in a row, with prior authorisation.
It is very important to remember that in order to make use of the camping areas on the Island, prior authorisation must be requested, whether camping proper, camping in a private mountain area or camping on a trip.
7. Anaga Mountains

Anaga is a special and different place. Personally, it is my favourite place to immerse yourself in the island's nature. The thick mountains of Anaga, in the north of Tenerife, have landscapes more reminiscent of 'Jurassic Park' than of a volcanic territory.
Over time, the Atlantic fog creates a sense of fantasy around an ecosystem that is unique to Macaronesia. And it is not for nothing that the Anaga Mountains are home to the highest concentration of endemic species in Europe.
This is undoubtedly the jewel in the crown of the Canary Islands' natural parks. There are different routes to follow on foot, although we recommend you get information beforehand and design the route to follow.
