1. Tour the āRavine of Hellā
Barranco del Infierno is a place full of legends and also one of the most pleasant to explore its trails.
This Natural Reserve is full of vegetation and endemic species of the Canary Islands, which you will find along its exciting roads.
Your steps will take you through streams, hillsides and natural ponds, cared for and protected to preserve their natural state. The best thing about this magical route is that it is suitable for all kinds of people. There are information posters and maps that will help you enjoy the tour.
This trail is located in Adeje, in the southwest of Tenerife.
2. Taste local food
One of the great wonders of the Canary Islands is its exquisite cuisine. We will never get tired of recommending all travellers who venture to meet the typical food of Tenerife. The island is full of traditional food venues, including the famous āguachinchesā, but our recommendation is to be advised by the local people.
The wines of Tenerife are of international prestige and there are few pleasures in life such as sitting at the table to enjoy dishes of cheese, potatoes with mojo or goat meat all accompanied by a delicious island wine.
3. Explore the seabed
The sea has something special that fascinates us, something that conquers our heart and is never forgotten. The special location of the Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean, and its volcanic origin, make it condense in little space an infinite life full of spectacular species. I can only tell you that the Canary Islands has several of the best spots in the world (recognized internationally by specialists) to do snorkelling.
There is a moment of peace, a moment of harmony with the sea, with the animals, with the background environment, which would be impossible to describe with words.

4. On route to the town of Masca
This is one of the most popular routes among hikers who know the islands. Masca is a unique hamlet in Tenerife, its cliffs are up to 8 million years old. This tour, which takes just over 3 hours, will take us from the town of Masca, one of the most unique towns in the Canary Islands, to the coast.
One of the best options to do this route is to combine the ride with a return by boat.
From Los Gigantes, you will go by bus to Masca, go down the ravine to the beach and embark on any of the boats that make the daily route to return to Los Gigantes. Although to do this we recommend organizing it in advance.
5. 'Playa del Bollullo' in La Orotava

6. Camping in the bush
One of the best ways to enjoy a unique and different natural experience on the island is to go camping. Although many already know it, for this type of activities the most important thing is to be well equipped.
So think well and organize the necessary elements before undertaking the adventure.
In Tenerife, there are several camping areas where you can enjoy our natural areas, where you can spend the night in tents, motor homes, caravans or other adapted vehicles or without any of them, up to a maximum of 7 days in a row, with prior authorization.
It is very important to remember that to make use of the camping areas of the Island, you must request a prior authorization, either camping proper, camping in a private mountain or camping on a trip.
7. Mountains of Anaga
Anaga is a special, different place. Personally, it is my favourite to immerse yourself in the nature of the island. The thickness of the mountains of Anaga, in the north of Tenerife, has landscapes more typical of āJurassic Parkā than a volcanic territory.
Preceded by the famous tunnel of time, the mist of the Atlantic generates a sense of fantasy around an exclusive ecosystem of Macaronesia. And we do not speak in vain, the mountains of Anaga harbour the highest concentration of endemic species in Europe.
It is undoubtedly the jewel in the crown of the Canary Islands nature reserves. There are different routes to travel on foot, although we recommend you to inform yourself beforehand and design the way to go.
