Senda receives the "Sustainable Tourism Award".

We echo the words of the newspaper El Día to announce the award received "For good practices in tourism sustainability":

Tenerife Tourism recognised the 5th of December 2018 institutions, companies and citizens for their commitment to the sustainability of the tourism sector.

This year, 31 projects were submitted to the competitions, 17 to the competition aimed at citizens and another 14 to the competition aimed at companies and administrations.

The president of the Cabildo, Carlos Alonso, stressed during the event that " identity, quality and sustainability are key elements in tourism and this is the model that we want and are developing in Tenerife".

For his part, the vice president and island councillor for Tourism, Alberto Bernabé, praised the efforts of the award winners "who have in common their conviction for sustainability".

Bernabé pointed out that tourists consume many more natural resources than residents because of their own holiday behaviour "and it is necessary to infect them with the idea that this island is a fragile ecosystem that must be cared for".

- A socio-economic and sustainable development plan for Buenavista del Norte, promoted by the town council; a project that focuses on how to play golf while minimising the carbon footprint promoted by the company Golf del Sur.

- The "Verde que te quiero Verde" project of the company Altalay 7 looks to imbue all its corporate actions with respect for the territory and the environment in its Vallemar and Nivaria hotels.

- A marketing platform specialising in unique experiences for responsible travellers presented by Senda Ecoway

These three projects won the prizes - in the different categories - of the Good Practices in Tourism Sustainability Competition, aimed at companies and local administrations.

As for the competition "For good practices in sustainable tourism", aimed at the local population, the winner was the project entitled "Recovery of the windmill and creation of the gofio interpretation centre".

The idea, which is being developed in La Laguna, is committed to renewable energies, creating five jobs, recovering abandoned land, contributing to sustaining biodiversity and promoting the consumption of "kilometre zero" products.

The finalist in this category was Remo Tenerife, a proposal whose objective is to promote and develop this nautical activity on the island.

The event also served to recognise the approximately 200 volunteers who participated in the thirty or so actions promoted by the Cabildo.

All this through Tenerife Tourism, aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals agreed upon by the international community and with the Tenerife Tourism Strategy, which includes ten cross-cutting axes, one of which is dedicated exclusively to sustainability.

This is how we offer experiences: from Sustainability

Senda Ecoway is committed to sustainability, this idea is strengthened by the Environment and Sustainability Department of the Cabildo of Tenerife, which together with the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz, awarded Senda Ecoway with the certificate "Empresas + Sostenibles".

Since our beginnings, we have remained firm and faithful to our values, despite the economic difficulties that are always associated with any business start-up.

We believe in Sustainable Tourism and we lead by example.

We discard ideas because they deviate from our motto and, in spite of this, and with a lot of effort from our team, we have managed to create a wide catalogue of unique experiences that continue to grow.

In the conception of these, we have been committed from the beginning not only to make you enjoy like no one else but also to do so with the utmost respect for the environment.

Unique experiences because they are different, original because they combine the best in a single product designed for you.

We move forward because we believe and we believe because we move forward. We are driven by blind faith in what we do and the knowledge that sustainable tourism is possible.

Our thanks to all those customers who, like you, have believed in us and to the Cabildo of Tenerife and the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz for awarding us the certificate "Empresas + Sostenibles", of which we are enormously proud.

We would also like to congratulate the 17 other initiatives that, like us, have received their certificate.

We go on!
