The Route of the White Villages is located in Andalusia, between the provinces of Cadiz y Malaga.
The Route of the White Villages is divided into two routes: the route of the White Villages of Cádiz and the route of the White Villages of Malaga.
This time we will focus on the route of the White Villages of Malaga.
The Pueblos Blancos of Malaga have the peculiarity that all the facades of the houses are painted in the following colours white colourThis creates a beautiful contrast, hence the name "Pueblos Blancos de Málaga" (White Villages of Malaga).
The villages included in this territory are: Atajate, Algatocín, Benadalid, Benaoján, Pueblo Colgante, Jimera de Libar and Montejaque.
Visit
It is one of the towns with smaller population of the province of Malaga, you can enjoy the tranquillity and peace of its streets.
Atajate is famous for its wineits production of must and wine industry.

Algatocín
Algatocín is a place of outstanding beauty, offering excellent views of landscapes of lush vegetation with an abundance of cork oaks, chestnut trees and other native species.
Its points of interest include the church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario and the Genil viewpoint.

Benadalid
Benadalid has attractive heritage sites such as the Church of San Isidro, La Cruz del Humilladero and the Moorish castle.
Benaoján
Located in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, it is an ideal village for adventure sports, hiking and rural tourism.
In the surrounding area we find interesting places such as Las Cuevas del Gato and La Pileta.
In La Pileta we can observe different cave paintings that will take us back to our prehistoric ancestors.
Hanging Village
Pueblo Colgante, also known as Cáceres, is a place declared a Historic-Artistic Monument. Pueblo Colgante, also known as Cáceres, has important heritage sites such as La Iglesia de la Encarnación, El Castillo Árabe and the hermitage of San Sebastián.
Jimera de Líbar
It is a village of Muslim origin, of which no trace remains to this day.
Its Arabic name was Inz Almaraz which means: "Castle of the Woman".
The surrounding area is home to the Pico Martín Gil peak, ideal for all kinds of nature sports.
Montejaque
Its name is of Muslim origin and means "Lost Mountain". It is a town of great historical wealth, where we can enjoy historical monuments such as the church of Santiago el Mayor.
In the surrounding area is Mount Hacho, 1075 metres above sea level, from its summit we can see the whole of the surrounding landscape.
