High altitude organic wines

High altitude wines are those whose production and growth take place at more than 800 m above sea level. They are characterised by a superior grape quality which is only acquired at these altitudes because the winters are longer and the temperature difference between night and day is very pronounced, creating greater freshness in the grapes and with it a slower ripening that allows for more aroma and flavour.

Este es el ejemplo de Bodegas Ferrera, un pequeño negocio familiar que ha perdurado en el Espacio Natural Protegido de 7 Lomas, alimentándose de los minerales volcánicos de la erupción del volcán Arenas Negras y de las condiciones meteorológicas que proporciona el encontrarse more than 1,000 m above sea level. No less important is its recognition as a 100% organic winery, creating a perfect ecosystem between the vineyard, the sheep and the plants. This has led to countless awards such as the Gold Medal at the Bacchus Harvest Awards in 2022.

Visita al viñedo de Bodegas Ferrera

During our visit we will learn about the rigorous work carried out by this family for more than 2 generations to produce the most outstanding organic wines of the archipelago.

Realizaremos un recorrido por la finca, a través del cual conoceremos diferentes tipos de uva, sus formas de cultivo, su origen, además tendremos la oportunidad de realizar varias paradas para degustar estas uvas junto a una tapa de productos locales. Durante el recorrido entenderemos también el ciclo de desarrollo que sigue la uva de forma ecológica y el papel que juega cada uno de los factores que hacen posible este crecimiento.
