Granada is known not only for the Alhambra, but also for its gastronomy. Tapas are often served free with every drink.

Gastronomic tour itinerary

This tapas tour takes in the monuments and picturesque squares of the city of Granada:

Plaza del Carmen: square where the Town Hall of Granada is located. Formerly, it is where the Official Tribune was installed during Holy Week. Nowadays, it is still a very busy square where the festivities of Granada are celebrated and free performances and events are held sporadically.

Plaza Isabel La Católica: known as Colón, this square is an urban space that begins the Gran Vía de Colón. There is a bronze sculpture of Isabel La Catolica and Christopher Columbus, by the sculptor Mariano Benlliure.

Plaza Nueva: curious rectangular square, or better said, whose perimeter is shaped into irregular and elongated pentagonal. One of its parts sits on the embankment of the Darro River. This river has precisely a special role in 1835.

Cathedral: built on top of the mosque of the city, it is now the catholic temple of Granada and seat of the archdiocese of the city. It is a masterpiece of the Spanish Renaissance and dedicated to the mystery of the Incarnation of the Lord.

Plaza Bib-Rambla: picturesque square surrounded by cafes and restaurants near the most popular shopping streets. Next to its fountain, you can find flower stalls. The origin of this square dates back to the Nasrid period, where commercial exchanges took place. Later, bullfights and jousting were also held here.
