Trekking: Tejeda & Ventana del Nublo

A walk through the clouds of symbolism

According to Baudelaire the poet is able to decipher".the forest of symbols". in which we live, the "confused words"We are also able to establish these relationships, or correspondences, between scents, colours and sounds.

We propose to be a symbolist poet for a day and to find these "correspondences". as you walk through the summits of Gran Canaria and contemplate the lavish sea of clouds. ¿A qué esperas para book esta senda y cruzar al otro lado "reader, my fellow man, my brother..." ? (To continue with Baudelaire's words).

The path in 7 moments

• Exit. We will meet at the scheduled meeting point to get organised and get going.
• Small groups. The groups for this activity will always be small, i.e. from two to eight people. In this way we guarantee that the experience is more personal and intense for everyone.
• On the way to the summit. En esta ruta de senderismo por Gran Canaria, pasaremos por el barranco de los Albarianes y la presa de Las Niñas para dirigirnos hacia Ayacata donde haremos una breve parada.
• Arrival at Pico de las Nieves. Al llegar al Pico de las Nieves, una de las zonas más altas de la isla de Gran Canaria, podremos disfrutar de las maravillosas vistas de la cumbre.

At the same time, our guide will interpret the landscape and tell us details of the area and the local culture. In addition, from this point we will have a bird's eye view of the route we are about to follow.

Itinerario de la ruta

• Senderismo en Gran Canaria, desde Los Llanos de la Pez. When we reach Los Llanos we start walking along a very pleasant path under the shade of the Canarian pines. Along the way we will cross the Tejeda basin with its impressive and typical "sea of clouds".
• Visit to the Ventana del Nublo. We continue ascending until we reach the Ventana del Nublo, a spectacular rock formation with fantastic views of the two most important rocks on the island: Roque Nublo, the symbol of Gran Canaria, and Roque Bentayga, the place of worship of the aborigines who inhabited the island before the conquest.
• Picnic at the Ventana del Nublo. There, in addition to observing the landscape, we can rest and have a small snack consisting of an energy bar or fruit and an isotonic drink.
