Jandía Natural Park: the wildest and most deserted side of Fuerteventura
The Jandía Natural Park is an essential destination for those seeking adventure in nature. Located on the southernmost tip of Fuerteventura, this desert paradise offers unique landscapes, with huge white dunes, towering cliffs and ancient fossils that tell the story of the island's geological history.
Our route begins in the Pecenescal ravineA dry and solitary environment is the starting point of the journey. From there, we head northwest through the historic "prisoners' way".The trail, an old route built in the 1940s, crosses a vast expanse of volcanic terrain. This trail leads to one of the park's most impressive spectacles: a white dune desertformed by erosion and the passage of time, creating a landscape that looks like something out of another planet.
As we move southwest, we enter even wilder territory, where sea and land merge in a spectacular setting. Along the way, we discover natural caves hidden among the cliffs. These natural refuges offer the perfect place to relax, listen to the sound of the ocean and gaze at the breathtaking arch of Cofeteone of the most emblematic views of the island. From here, you can admire the endless unspoilt beaches of Cofete, which stretch for miles without a trace of urbanisation.
The Jandía Natural Park is a jewel of Fuerteventura that combines history, geology and incomparable landscapes. Its biodiversity and its inhospitable aspect make it an ideal destination for those seeking to explore nature in its purest form.
