Hello everyone, my name is Lola and in this post, I am going to recommend you the 4 best experiences to do with Senda Ecoway this 2020 on the island of Tenerife.
I will try to show you in detail everything you may need to know to make up your mind, both for canaries and tourists, so please, if you are visiting the island, don't stay in the hotel.
I want to make it clear that these are my personal recommendations, Tenerife is an island full of extraordinary places to discover and moments to enjoy, for everyone and for all tastes.
Please understand that if it were up to me, the only thing I would do is to travel around the island enjoying the food and the good wine, but what I want to do here is to show you a little bit of the island in its diversity, and not to respond exclusively to my passion for gastronomy and the after-dinner conversation.
A BIT OF INFORMATION ABOUT TENERIFE
Tenerife is an island located in the northwest of Africa, in the Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of approximately 1 million inhabitants and can be reached by road in about 2 hours, depending on the number of stops you make. Its capital is Santa Cruz, located in the northwest of the island.
It is a volcanic island, that is to say, it is formed by eruptions of volcanoes (now inactive), the most famous of which, and the one that presides over it, is Mount Teide, at an altitude of 3,718 metres.
El Teide is the highest peak in Spain, a volcano full of history and legends, with a presence all over the island. It is visible from many points throughout the Canary archipelago, although it is best enjoyed on a hike to the summit, or stargazing at night from its base in Las Cañadas.
THE NORTH AND SOUTH OF TENERIFE
But Tenerife is much more than that. Just so you can understand, the island is very much divided between the north and the south.
In the NORTH you will find:
- The best local gastronomy.
- Authentic villages of the Canary Islands.
- Black sandy beaches, ravines, cliffs and many hidden places many hidden places to enjoy.
- Green areas of forests and lush vegetation.
While in the SOUTH:
- Increased tourism offer.

I know that many (of the visitors, Canarians can skip this point) are interested in knowing what the climate of Tenerife is like.
The first thing to understand is that Tenerife has a warm climate ALL YEAR ROUND. The north tends to be more humid and cloudy, so temperatures can be a little lower, whereas in the south you can find 25-30 degrees in December and clear skies, with plenty of sunshine.
The average temperature on the island is around 20 degrees Celsius throughout the year, with small variations between summer and winter.
Cautionary note
This does not mean that ALL the island is the same, Tenerife has microclimates, so weather conditions can vary within a few kilometres. This means, DO NOT GO UP TO THE TEIDE IN WINTER WITHOUT A COAT, it is very likely that you will find snow and temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius. Don't let the pleasant sunshine of your hotel in Adeje fool you.

MY RECOMMENDATION OF THE 4 BEST ACTIVITIES TO DO IN TENERIFE
Having said all that, let's get down to business. My recommended activities for this year are a selection of:
- Gastronomy and wine culture
- Sport and adrenaline
- Sea
- Relax
However, this being my selection, there are plenty of interesting things to do on the island. From learning about its history and that of the Canary Islands through the museums to enjoy the night in its wide variety of nightlife.
It is also common to walk around the island discovering its corners, especially the beaches, but also the footpaths and villages.

I must admit that this is my weakness. A guided tour of one of the most emblematic wineries in Tenerife. You may not know it, but the Canary Islands have truly exquisite wines and it is a designation of origin that has won many awards at international tastings. It is considered to be one of the best appellations of origin in the world.
The best thing about this experience is the details; when you book, Senda Ecoway will send you an email with suggestions of viewpoints and special places to go for a picnic with company. If you prefer, you can also have the picnic lunch at the winery itself, but only after the wine tasting 😀.

The timetable is from 15:00 to 17:00. The activity can be done all year round, although being in the north of the island, my recommendation is that you bring warm clothes, just in case.

Bodejas Monje is situated in the north of the island, close to Puerto de la Cruz and approximately 1-hour drive from the south.

2. PARAGLIDING JUMP

DESCRIPTION
Fascinating tandem paragliding flight in Tenerife, jumping with an instructor. We can choose to do the activity from the base of Teide or from the south.
Paragliding is one of those experiences that we don't know what it means until we try it. The sensations are incredible and I assure you that flying over the island from a bird's eye view is something you won't forget in a few days.
The interesting thing about this activity is that we can do it without any previous experience. The instructors are accredited professionals and will know how to guide you at all times, as well as provide you with the necessary equipment.
It is also properly prepared to make it accessible for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.

What a relaxing day! The place is very nice, and it is very well looked after. I gave this spa as a gift to my partner and we enjoyed it very much. There are many different water jets, each one to emphasize specific areas of the body. There is also a steam sauna, ice bucket, etc. very complete and the place is quiet.
