What is sustainable tourism according to the OMT?

Tourism that takes into account current and future economic, social and environmental repercussions to satisfy the visitors, industry and host communities needs.

GOAL 3  Ensuring healthy lives and promoting the well-being for all at all ages

SENDA promotes healthy lifestyle together with the enjoyment of the activities and experiences. Nutrition, healthy local gastronomy, mindfulness, yoga, and all activities related to sports and nature are deep in Senda Ecoway experiences DNA. 

SENDA is working on a training program for the local artisans and professionals with touristic potential interest, so that they can get to know the insides of a sector that may help them to develop the viability of their activities. 

GOAL 8  Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

Tourism is an engine of global economic growth and currently creates 1 in 11 jobs. Goal 8.9 recognizes the contribution of the sector: until 2030 develop and implement policies aimed at promoting sustainable tourism that creates jobs and promotes local culture and products.

SENDA is immersed in a training program for local professionals who develop activities with potential tourist interest to bring them closer to a sector that may have a key role in their development and the viability of their activity.

GOAL 10  Reduce inequality within and among countries.

SENDA promotes local development as it encourages economic sustainability for local professionals further than their natural activities. SENDA forma smes to offer their products and activities to tourism visitors willing to discover local proposals of the region.

GOAL 11  Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

SENDA promotes sustainable mobility and also helps the knowledge of the importance of the unique heritage of each region. The cultural and historic heritage and also the nature heritage will be appreciated and respected as it is discovered and enjoyed with respect and liable information. 

GOAL 12  Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

SENDA promotes local authenticity as one of its values. Promoting the uniqueness of each community, of its people, and of every unique characteristics that make them different, is one of the SENDA values that it offers to the Senda community of ecotravellers. 

GOAL 13  Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

SENDA compensates the carbon footprint of the activities of the ecotravellers community in the volunteer market. Not only through eco programs but also through social ability activities. Our programs try to impact on the same community where the activity was enjoyed. 

GOAL 14  Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.

SENDA chooses the submarine activities having in mind values of eco legal and respect to animals values. Whale watching, snorkeling in areas of animal living such as turtles or manta rays… are always enjoyed together with the best qualified professionals who are committed to their activities. 

GOAL 15  Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

SENDA promotes activities in nature with local guides ready to offer their knowledge in order to make aware and discover the natural richness of the different regions to Senda ecotravellers.

GOAL 17  Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

SENDA was promoted numerous touristic companies which believed a different way of living tourism was possible. Changing tourism by promoting sustainable activities in all the tourism sector value chain is the vision.

Cooperation and collaboration are in SENDA DNA. SENDA brings together different activities to create unique experiences by connecting people, projects, companies, and promoting the action of the visitors with the local community.
